On the morning of Monday, March 20, nearly 100 VIPs and prospective future residents of The Outlook at Windhaven (OAW) filled Plano’s Chamber of Commerce to learn about the benefits of downsizing or “rightsizing” to prepare to move as they embark upon a new and exciting phase of life. Guests heard from an experienced panel of experts including LeAnn Holt, a professional organizer and CEO of Organized and Tidy, Genice Lee, owner of Harvest Estate Sale and Appraisal Services LLC, Angela McCants, Certified Senior Advisor, Move Manager and Broker Associate with Dave Perry-Miller Real Estate and Andrew Siegel, junk hauler and Chief Executive Lugger with The Junkluggers of Greater Dallas.
In addition to providing an overview of the variety of services offered, these knowledgeable specialists shared insight into rightsizing effectively while catering their advice to meet needs of the specific senior demographic. Valuable recommendations included communicating future plans with close friends and loved ones, surrounding yourself with qualified professionals, dealing with your possessions and finally celebrating your new lifestyle! The expert consultants strongly encouraged audience members to plan ahead during their transition to eliminate stress while also creating efficiency within their timeline. The panel of small business owners also shared how they strive to provide personal attention, connection and care to each of their clients – qualities often missing from larger moving and downsizing organizations.
A second session of this popular panel was added in the afternoon to accommodate the overwhelming amount of interest generated by this topic! This informational event is one of many focused on building the OAW community before it’s built. To learn more about Plano’s newest, dynamic senior living community, click here.
On Valentine’s Day, the Outlook at Windhaven (OAW) team tapped into their artistic side as they hosted a unique mixer for future residents at Plano’s Painting with a Twist. (The idea for this particular mixer occurred after the OAW team enjoyed a memorable team-building painting party to celebrate the Christmas holiday season last year.)
As they celebrated the day of love, OAW VIPs donned smocks, picked up paintbrushes and let their creative juices flow as they received step-by-step instruction from a lead artist in the Plano studio, to create a hand-painted masterpiece. More than 35 future residents filled the workshop where music, chatter and laughs were prevalent throughout the event. The VIP artists enjoyed several snack breaks to munch on an array of yummy refreshments and beverages provided by the always-hospitable OAW Sales and Marketing team. We look forward to seeing these beautiful works of art hanging in residents’ future homes at The Outlook at Windhaven.
With more than 80% of the community’s apartments and cottages already reserved, there is no time to waste to join Plano’s brand-new senior living community. For more information on The Outlook at Windhaven, click here.

Forefront Living is pleased to introduce our newest teammate at The Outlook at Windhaven (OAW), Rachel McGowan. Rachel fills the role of Marketing Coordinator and is the new friendly face greeting VIPs and prospective residents and their families at the Information Center and at OAW events. We sat down with Rachel to get to know her better through a fun question and answer session. Please read below to learn more about Rachel.
What are you passionate about regarding your professional role? As the OAW Marketing Coordinator, I enjoy working with the data and numbers aspect of the business, but I am passionate about making people smile and feel like they have been well-taken care of. Serving others is a significant part of my professional drive. I wake up happy just knowing that my contributions at work will positively impact someone’s life.
Where could we find you on the weekend? On the weekend, you might find me fishing on Lake Bridgeport with my 10-year-old son Liam or cheering in the stands at one of his baseball games. We are also big hockey fans and spend a lot of time watching hockey together. In addition, I am completing my certifications for personal training and sports nutrition, so I am at the gym frequently. I also love listening to live music and attending concerts!
What are some of your favorite foods? I am a foodie at heart and appreciate experiencing new cuisines. In fact, I don’t think there is a type of fare that I don’t enjoy. Every week at our house, we celebrate Taco Tuesday with a taco dinner. It’s a tradition that my son never lets me skip!
Tell us a little more about yourself: Liam and I have a menagerie of pets! Our mini zoo includes two Beagles named Jack and Mollie, one Collie named Kate, Henry the cat and Drogon, a bearded dragon. My hobbies include fishing, weightlifting and participating in athletic competitions.
Anything additional you wish to share with future residents? I have a decade of experience working in active adult communities, covering many roles. Years ago, I started a successful photography business but have retired from being a small business owner. I am thrilled to be working with a vibrant senior community again and look forward to being a part of The Outlook family for a long time.
During the holiday season, more than 20 Outlook at Windhaven (OAW) VIPs and teammates spent time cleaning out their closets. They then took the clothing items they no longer needed to the OAW Information Center where they were collected and then donated to The Storehouse of Collin County. Not only did this exercise help with the VIPs process of “right sizing” prior to their move into the future community, it also benefited an untold number of Collin County residents in need.
Additional right sizing opportunities will be provided throughout the months leading up to the opening of the community. Click here to learn more about The Outlook at Windhaven and here to learn more about The Storehouse of Collin County.

Jennifer Campbell, OAW Marketing and Sales Director, recognized three VIPs, awarding them each $500 gift cards, for their referral of friends who signed on to join the popular community. At the end of the party, guests received lovely champagne flutes to use at their current home while toasting their future home.
